Just for that reason alone I would be happy doing anything, anywhere, any distance, any country in the world but Cal mentioned he would love to do the Alps and I thought " WOW Perfect !!! "
So on the 17th June this year 2023 we are heading to Geneva in Switzerland and heading south up and over the French Alps. We will be doing around 50-60 miles a day which will consist of a major Col (French for mountain) every day. It is not going to be an easy 6 days but it will I think be one of the most beautiful picturesque trips of my life. Having Cal alongside me fills me with a huge amount of emotion. Just to be with him for a week seeing these places and sharing this time is just the best thing I think I could wish for.
So to give this adventure a name... mmm... at first I thought of G2N, Geneva to Nice. Boring. Then Monte Carlo or bust ?
We intend to choose a finish line and we kind of thought about the steps outside the Casino de Monte Carlo in Monaco as a cool place so that is the goal. Again, perfect.
Also thought about Bryn Broga which translates as Hill of the Frog in Welsh. I think the French have a sense of humour. I did lefrog in 2018 which was length of the country like lejog (lands end to john o groats) in the UK.
Maybe not.. Simple and to the point.... Genève 2 Monte-Carlo 2023
